ABOUT US

OUR MISSION

It is PLAY Denver’s mission to provide moments of joy to underprivileged youth in our community. We must provide children with a physical and mental escape from the stress that living in poverty can bring.

To begin to inspire that joy and escape, we are in the process of building a bike path that will connect the Northside Projects with the Denver Bike Path system and starting a bike share program for kids who may otherwise not have access to a bicycle. We hope to expand our program to other areas of Denver that are impoverished and disconnected from neighboring communities.

OUR STORY

We are a group based in Denver, Colorado. We were founded by a group of North High School students who were inspired by The Aspen Challenge, which motivates students to come up with solutions in their communities and beyond. We were challenged to use underutilized resouces and spaces to inspire play in impoverished communities. We thought of moments when we experienced joy in our own childhoods and all of us realized the joy that riding a bike can bring is irreplaceable.

We decided to build a bike path in the projects closest to our school and start a bike share program for children living in poverty.

Our mission to bring moments of joy to youth is expanding everyday!
